How long does delivery take and how is an engine or gearbox shipped?

An engine code is a unique identifier used to match a replacement engine to your specific vehicle.

When buying a used or imported engine in Cape Town, the engine code ensures compatibility and prevents costly mistakes. At Mike’s Engine Importers, we use this code to match engines for brands like Toyota, Volkswagen, BMW, Ford, and Mercedes-Benz.

You can find your engine number on your licence disc, registration papers, or stamped directly on the engine block.

In South Africa, this number is essential when buying a replacement or second hand engine. If you’re unsure, our Cape Town team can help identify the correct engine using your vehicle details.

An engine will fit your car if the engine code matches your vehicle’s original specifications.

At Mike’s Engine Importers in Cape Town, we verify compatibility using your engine code and vehicle details. In some cases, small variations exist, and our team ensures the correct match before supply.

Used engines are supplied complete, excluding the starter motor and aircon pump, while gearboxes are supplied complete without clutch kits or flywheels.
