Terms & Conditions

Petrol engines – 90 Day guarantee from date of invoice (Unless otherwise stated on invoice)

Performance or turbocharged engines – Start up guarantee following: (no fitment inspection needed)

Diesel engines – 30 day guarantee from date of invoice

Commercial use engines – 30 day guarantee from date of invoice

All engines and gearboxes to be fitted by a registered RMI workshop.

Engines are to be returned fitted within 7 days of purchases with the following items replaced:
Oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, thermostat, all belts including cambelt, cambelt tensioner, all oil seals, and radiators are to be cleaned by a recognised radiator specialist shop. Only once a Mike’s Place staff member has inspected the fitment will your guarantee be in effect.

Guarantee is null and void if:

• Upon inspection it is found that the engine was, dismantled, stripped, modified, overheated, over revved or misused.
• The vehicle is not returned to Mike’s Place for inspection within the specified time frame.
• No Returns or refunds will be issued on goods that are correctly supplied. At the discretion of Mike’s Place, you may be charged up to a 20% handling fee.
• Performance parts will not be refunded under any circumstance and carry no guarantee.
• In the event that your vehicle has not been “data -dotted” , the Traffic department will require that you have this done before you may clear your engine. This is at your own cost and Mike’s Place cannot be held liable for said costs under any circumstances.

Mike’s Place is not liable for any labour charges, towing costs, freight charges, vehicle hire, downtime or loss of income due to the failure of a product.

Please bare in mind you are purchasing a second hand item and there will always be an element of risk to you.

Other checks:

• Please note that Water pumps are to be checked and are not covered by warranty. If found to be faulty or worn, it is to be replaced at the purchasers expense. Any damage caused by faulty water pump will not be covered by warranty.
• Please ensure that the water temp gauge, oil pressure light and cooling fan are in working order.
• Please check the sump for dents before fitment. Mike’s place will not be held liable for damage to engine due to oil starvation caused by a dented sump.
• No Auxiliary parts or electrical parts are covered by the guarantee.
• Diesel engines must have injectors tested and pump timing calibrated at the purchasers expense. Please inspect your engine prior to payment and acceptance of product as the engines are sold ( as is with warranty) No auxiliary parts will be exchanged/replaced after the product has left the premises. Auxiliary parts list – Throttle position sensor, knock sensor, distributor, alternator, starter, power steering pump, crank sensor, solenoids, pulleys, tappet covers, oil sump, filter housings, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, injectors, plug leads, distributor cap, clutch and flywheel.

Gearboxes:

• 90 day guarantee on automatic gearboxes, unless otherwise stated.
• 90 day guarantee on manual gearboxes, unless otherwise stated.
• No guarantee on any gearbox being used in a modification or performance vehicle.
• Please ensure your propshaft is correctly balanced as a broken or damaged extension housing will not be covered by your guarantee.
• A new spigot shaft bearing must be fitted.
• There will be no guarantee on broken gears or burnt gearboxes due to low oil.
• New seals are to be fitted to gearboxes before installation.
• Please ensure that all gearbox mountings are in good condition.
• Only use the oil specified by the manufacturer. Damage caused by incorrect oil use will not be covered under guarantee.

Warranty/Refunds

• All claims will be subject to a full inspection of the item being returned and will be processed within 72 hours.
• Items are to be returned in the same condition as they were received.(complete)
• Under no circumstance may you or your mechanic strip or dismantle an engine for diagnosis. If a problem with our product occurs please contact Mike’s Place immediately.
