Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before buying a used engine, gearbox, or auto part.

Whether you’re a first time buyer or just need a quick refresher, our FAQ covers the most common questions we get, so you can shop with confidence. Still unsure? Our expert team is just a call or WhatsApp away.

An engine code is a unique identifier for the engine type used in your vehicle. It helps ensure compatibility when buying a replacement engine. Some engine codes can apply to different engine variants, so having this code helps us supply you with the right fit.

The easiest way to find your engine number (or engine code) is on your licence disc or your vehicle registration document. If it's not listed there, it will be stamped directly onto the engine block. If you're still unsure, contact our sales team with your vehicle's make, model, year, and engine size (e.g. 1.2, 1.6, 2.0), and we’ll help you identify the correct engine.

Our experienced sales team will match your vehicle with the correct engine using your engine code and vehicle details. In most cases, this is all that is needed. However, there are instances where engines with the same code have small differences. We'll guide you through the process to ensure the best match.

Used engines are supplied complete, excluding the starter motor and aircon pump. Some auxiliary parts may also be removed if they are incompatible with local models, allowing us to offer better pricing. Gearboxes are supplied complete, but do not include clutch kits, flywheels, or flexplates.

Lack of maintenance is the leading cause of failure. Regular servicing with the correct parts and lubricants is essential. Overheating due to neglected cooling systems is a major issue for engines. We recommend flushing and testing your radiator every second service.
